The class started off with an attendance question and then we drew the hydrologic cycle with the following words included in the drawing... condensation, evaporation, melting, solidification, glacier, stream, river, creek, ground water, lake, ocean, evapotransporation, and the sun - maybe include local mountains, glaciers and rivers in it?!?!
To end the class progress reports were handed out and we went outside to name all the mountains around us :) Please complete this drawing for Monday and get your progress reports signed! The class went to Nakusp Hot Springs today to take water samples, hike to the source of the hot springs, see the pump system, and enjoy the waters.
Thank you to all who joined! If you were not here today, there is a make up project to complete. Today the class learned about hot springs and how they are formed in preparation for our field trip tomorrow.

Today the class started with an attendance question and then moved on to filling out the following chart on waves and watched these videos. After, we did the Seismograph Lab and then did the Earthquake Graphing Lab, cross word from last class, and review outside. Please complete these graphs and hand them in. There is an open book test tomorrow! Please come prepared with your notes and willingness to collaborate and problem solve with your peers :) Today we did the following earthquake preparedness sheet (the following websites are helpful) and then reviewed the layers of the earth.

After break, there was an open book test that took place for plate tectonic interactions that we marked as a class. Please complete the following map worksheet if you were not here today! Today was the last day to work on the Plate Tectonics Inquiry project.
This project is now due - please hand it in! Today the class finished up the notes from yesterday on Earthquakes and then worked on their Plate Tectonics Inquiry Project on Teams.
You will have two classes to work on this project - please use your time wisely! The class started off with an attendance question, then we filled in our second set of notes. After break we did the following Hot Spot Lab. Please complete the following lab for homework if you did not finish it in class! Today the class filled in the following notes, watched this video, and did the following activity. Please complete the following lat/long activity if you did not get it down in class today! The class did the following textbook tour and watched this video on earthquakes to introduce our new unit of pate tectonics! If you did not complete this in class please do it for homework! Today the class reviewed the Rocks and Minerals test together, talked about term 3 ending, and progress reports were sent home. Students were given a short amount of time to work on missing work.
Any missing work will not be accepted after Monday. Today the class reviewed and then took the Rocks and Minerals Test - congrats! After, we did a self assessment for the Mineral and Rocks Inquiry Project and a work ethic self assessment for Term 3.

There will be a Rocks and Minerals Test on Wednesday! Please come prepared to ask questions about the review - we will spend the entire first block reviewing :) Today the class worked on their 'Mineral and Rock Inquiry Project' on Teams.
