They will be due on Friday! Today the class started on their summative project for astronomy!
The class started off with an attendance question and then we reviewed the Big Bang, learned about the sun, and talked about our astronomy summative project that we will be starting tomorrow! Notes on the sun... -the sun is what gives us life! We could not breath without oxygen, and oxygen is produced by plants that require the sun for their energy. -the sun is the dot on an I if the galaxy is the size of the USA -1,380,000km is the diameter of the sun, this is 110 times earth's diameter -over 1 million earths could fit inside the sun -the sun is 700 time heavier than all the planets together -the surface of the sun is 5500 degrees Celsius and the interior is 15,000,000 degrees Celsius -layers of the sun = corona (heat vacuum), chromosphere (less dense atmosphere), photosphere (bright yellow surface), and the core -solar prominences are flames that rise out of the sun for sun spots (hot areas of the sun) and these prominences create solar flares and solar winds -energy on the sun is created from fusion of 4H=>1He |
