Paper Bridges Experiment!
We started off by examining local and international bridges then became engineers for the day. If you would like to do this experiment because you were away... -Create a purpose, hypothesis, materials list (below) and record your results on a lined piece of paper -Your materials can only include 8 pieces of paper, weights, scale, scissors and tape -The base of your bridge must be a piece of paper folded 'veggie burger' style and it must be free standing! ie. you can only build up, not out/around, and you cannot tape it to anything. Hint: building down will not help your bridge, build up. -Once your design is done test the bridge and record how much weight it held Hand your purpose, hypothesis, materials and results in! *UPDATE - It was brought to my attention that the sustainability of this experiment should be questioned because of so much paper being used (thank you for bringing this up!!) - Now that the experiment is done, what can we do with the bridges? Still open for suggestions and we will decide as a class. Comments are closed.
