Today, we did corrections on the division, multiplication, addition and subtraction fraction sheets we have been working on. After, we did some fraction word problems with Halloween candy in small groups.
Please hand in all four of your corrected fraction worksheets for marks tomorrow! Today, we worked on the following worksheet and had some good chats with our very small class size.
A quick review was done and then there was a 'Fractions Test'. After, we played board games!
Please come see me if you where not here today :) Homework questions were reviewed. Next, students were given time to work on the unit review questions
1-23 on page 236 - if you finish this, try the practice test on page 238. There will be a 'Fractions Test' on Thursday. Please bring any questions you have to class on Thursday and finish the review for homework! Drawing diagrams for dividing fractions and mixed numbers was done in groups on the whiteboards. Questions 5-10 were assigned on page 227 and everyone is to chose 3 apply questions to answer as well. Homework was checked today and last class, for those who have not finished their homework, they were encouraged to finish that first.
Please bring questions 5-10 on page 227 completed to class tomorrow! To start the class, an attendance question was done. After checking students work, questions 6 and 7 on page 220 were reviewed in groups on the whiteboards. Then the 'Adding Fractions' worksheet below was worked on.
Please finish the 'Adding Fractions' worksheet for homework! Students finished their foldable from last class and examples of division, multiplication and reciprocals were done on the whiteboard. Next, section 6.4 Multiplying Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers was started by taking notes on Example 1 on page 217 and Example 2 on page 218. Questions 4-9 on page 220 were assigned for homework.
Please complete questions 4-9 on page 220 for class on Thursday! Today, notes on division of fractions were finished by writing out Example 1 on page 205 and Example 3 on page 206 and then students made a coloured foldable to review multiplication of fractions, division of fractions and reciprocals. A group sudoku was completed together to end the day.

Class started off with an attendance question and then we jumped into making music with fractions as groups on the whiteboards and performed them to each other! Next we went over the sudoku from last class and then started this new sudoku. After, we took notes on dividing fractions explaining the Keep-Change-Flip rule.
Please work on this sudoku over the weekend! We reviewed the Keep-Change-Flip video from yesterday and then did the worksheet below on dividing fractions. After, we worked on textbook questions 4-15 on page 208. Then we learned how to play Sudoku and we played as a group and individually. Lastly, we went outside and did a riddle about the number 4...
A get to know you activity took place and then the class worked on multiplying fractions in questions 5-12, 14, 15 &17 from last class on page 202 in the textbook.
